An established industry player is seeking a compassionate PCA to provide essential support to elderly and disabled clients. This role focuses on assisting with daily living activities, ensuring clients' comfort and safety, and maintaining a positive living environment. The PCA is a non-skilled worker who may possess a certificate of training, either formally (e.g., Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or in-house formal training; competency and assessment by an experienced RN licensed by the state of South Carolina or an experienced LPN with at least 3 years of experience). The training and supervision will be under the direction of an RN. There will be subsequent supervisory assessments of PCA services 30 days after initiation of services, then at least every 90 days thereafter, with one assessment requiring the PCA's presence in the home.
To service elderly and/or disabled adults and children. Under no circumstances will any type of skilled medical service be performed by a PCA.
The PCA will also monitor the client’s condition, carrying out observations similar to those a family member might perform (e.g., noticing apparent changes in condition). The PCA is not responsible for administering medication but can remind clients about medication times and hand the medication container to the client.
Must be fully ambulatory and physically capable of assisting with activities of daily living as outlined above.
