Job summary

Right at Home is seeking compassionate caregivers to join our part-time team in Virginia Beach. You will help seniors stay at home by assisting with daily activities, mobility, meals, and companionship. We value reliability, empathy, and respect for clients’ autonomy.

Immediate openings for CNA or PCA with caring personalities. Training and ongoing support provided; competitive pay and flexible scheduling available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
• 6 months CNA or 6 months PCA experience preferred.
• 1-3 years caregiver/home health aide experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Valid driver's license and automobile insurance preferred.
• Pass a background check.
• CNA or HHA license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living, including feeding, dressing, and personal hygiene.
• Provide medication reminders and support prescribed range of motion exercises.
• Prepare meals, assist with housekeeping, and escort to appointments as needed.
• Offer companionship through reading, music, puzzles and conversation.
• Support clients with mobility, transfers, and positioning.
• Ensure safety and comfort while respecting care plans.

Job Overview

Responsibilities And Duties

Performs personal care activities that assist the client with activities of daily living which include (but are not limited to):

• Feeding
• Dressing/Shaving
• Medication reminders
• Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
• Preparing special diets
• Dementia care
• Companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.
• Dressing, changing, ambulating and repositioning clients
• Performing housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning the bathroom
• Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions
• Accompanying client on errands or medical appointments

Qualifications And Skills

• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
• 6-month of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant or 6 months experience as a Personal Care Assistant in healthcare preferred
• 1-3 years of experience as a Caregiver/Home Health Aide in healthcare (in homes or facilities)
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
• Possess a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance preferred
• Pass a background check
• CNA or HHA license is preferred
