Job summary

Right at Home of Hampton Roads is seeking compassionate Caregivers for immediate part-time roles in the Virginia Beach area. Join our team to help seniors remain safely at home and enjoy meaningful companionship and support with daily living activities.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of caregiving experience (CNA/HHA preferred), a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read, write, and speak English. We offer flexible scheduling and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 6 months CNA or 6 months PCA experience preferred.
• 1–3 years caregiver/HHA experience in home care or facilities.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance preferred.
• Background check required.
• CNA or HHA license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (feeding, dressing/shaving).
• Provide medication reminders and assist with range of motion exercises.
• Assist with meals, personal care, and mobility.
• Provide companionship and memory care support as needed.
• Perform light housekeeping (vacuuming, dusting, cleaning, laundry).
• Accompany clients to appointments and errands.

Responsibilities And Duties

Performs personal care activities that assist the client with activities of daily living which include (but are not limited to):

• Feeding
• Dressing/Shaving
• Medication reminders
• Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises
• Preparing special diets
• Dementia care
• Companionship activities such as reading, music, puzzles, etc.
• Dressing, changing, ambulating and repositioning clients
• Performing housekeeping activities which include (but are not limited to): vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linens, doing laundry and cleaning the bathroom
• Preparing meals and snacks according to instructions
• Accompanying client on errands or medical appointments

Qualifications And Skills

• High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
• 6-month of experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant or 6 months experience as a Personal Care Assistant in healthcare preferred
• 1-3 years of experience as a Caregiver/Home Health Aide in healthcare (in homes or facilities)
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
• Possess a valid driver\u2019s license and current automobile insurance preferred
• Pass a background check
• CNA or HHA license is preferred
