Personal Care Assistant (PCA) – Job Description

Personal Care Assistants in Minnesota

Employer: Home Healthcare Agency
Location: Roseville, MN 55113
Pay: Starts at $17.00 per hr for PCA Traditional and $19 per hr for PCA Choice.

We are seeking individuals who are compassionate and can help maintain the general health and safety of our clients. Our ideal candidate should:

• Be available for 7 days of work, overnight shift
• Work with clients who have a motorized wheelchair
• Assist clients with full or partial cleaning and personal care
• Work well with instructions and manage multiple tasks

Minimum Requirements:

• PCA Certification (25 question test)
• Demonstrate a positive, compassionate, and caring attitude
• Ability to work well with others as well as individually
• Reliable transportation with a good driving record, proper license, and insurance
• Effectively read plans of care and communicate both written and verbally
• Effective listening skills
• Ability to socialize and build positive relationships with clients
• Maintain confidentiality
• Value diversity and treat clients and coworkers with respect and dignity
• Adapt well to clients’ needs and changes in the plan of care
• Must pass a criminal background check

Duties may include:

• Assisting clients with showers/bathing, shampooing, skin and nail care, oral hygiene, grooming, and dressing
• Cleaning common areas such as kitchens, bathrooms, living/dining rooms, and bedrooms
• Grocery shopping and meal preparation
• Other miscellaneous duties as needed per clients’ requirements

Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Salary: Starts at $17.00/hour for PCA Traditional and $19.00/hour for PCA Choice
