Job summary

Home in the Heart Healthcare Agency in Savannah, Tennessee is seeking a compassionate in-home caregiver to support clients in their own homes. This is a non-medical position focused on daily living assistance, companionship, and adherence to individualized care plans.

You will assist with bathing, grooming, mobility, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders as allowed by policy, and observe changes in condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Caregiving or personal care experience preferred.
• Compassionate, dependable, patient, and professional.
• Able to communicate effectively and follow care plans and agency policies.
• Must pass required background checks and meet employment requirements.
• Reliable transportation required; valid driver’s license and insurance may be needed for transportation assignments.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or required by agency policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Help with mobility, transfers, positioning, and eating.
• Prepare light meals and provide medication reminders as permitted by agency policy.
• Perform light housekeeping, laundry, dishwashing, and bed linen changes.
• Provide companionship and assist with authorized errands or appointments.
• Observe and report changes in the client's condition.
• Follow individualized care plans and document services accurately and promptly.
• Use the agency's approved EVV/timekeeping system.
• Follow HIPAA, infection-control, safety, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain professional boundaries and report missed visits, schedule changes, and concerns.
• Perform other assigned duties within the caregiver's scope of practice.
• Regular updates to the client's guardian/relative.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach, and safely assist clients with mobility and transfers as required by the care plan.

Scope of Services

This is a non-medical position. Caregivers may not perform skilled nursing, wound care, injections, medication administration, or other clinical services unless properly licensed and specifically authorized.
