Job summary

Village Caregiving in East Palestine, OH is hiring Personal Care Assistants to help clients with daily living activities, medication reminders, mobility support and companionship.

No formal experience required, but patience and a compassionate bedside manner are essential. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, meal preparation, light housekeeping and reporting changes to caregivers.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist with ambulation and mobility around home or during outings.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist with prescribed exercises and physical therapy.
• Shop for clients or accompany them on errands as needed.
• Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping.
• Collect information about conditions from caregivers and doctors.
• Report unusual incidents to nurses and family members.
• React quickly and responsibly in emergencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help clients take prescribed medication
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor's appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercises
• Do the client's shopping or accompany them when they shop if needed
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own, including preparing meals
• Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members
• Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors and family members
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

REQUIREMENTS

• Previous caregiver experience preferred but not required
• Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
• Must be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside manner
• Outstanding communication, time management and interpersonal skills
• Physical endurance to complete required tasks
• High school diploma or equivalent
