Job summary

Paylocity in Springfield is seeking a Homemaker/Companion to provide essential non-medical support in clients' homes, helping maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment while promoting independence and social engagement.

Under supervision of the Nursing Supervisor and Scheduling Coordinator, duties include companionship, meal prep, light housekeeping, errands, and reminders for medications. Flexible hours may include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Previous experience in home care, housekeeping, or elder care setting (preferred).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the service area.
• PHCAST homemaker training completion (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship, socialization, and emotional support to clients.
• Assist with meal planning and preparation according to dietary guidelines.
• Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, dishwashing, vacuuming, dusting, and general tidying.
• Assist with errands, grocery shopping, and escort to appointments or social activities (as applicable).
• Provide reminders for medications (without administering), appointments, and hydration.
• Observe and report changes in the client’s condition or home environment to the Nursing Supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with the Scheduling Coordinator regarding schedule changes, availability, and client concerns.
• Ensure the client’s living environment is safe and free from hazards.
• Follow agency policies, procedures, and all applicable state regulations.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements.
• Participate in required training and ongoing in-service education.
• Always maintain a respectful and professional demeanor.
• Utilize agency software for EVV/GPS for documentation and clocking in and out of shifts.

Full-Time & Part-Time Caregivers Approximately 20–40 hours available for the Springfield / Indian Orchard / Wilbraham / Ludlow area

Position Summary:

The Homemaker/Companion provides essential non-medical support services to clients in their homes to help maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. This role supports clients' independence, promotes social engagement, and provides assistance with household tasks under the supervision of the Nursing Supervisor and direction of the Scheduling Coordinator.
