Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Follow the Care Plan provided by the Nursing Supervisor to assist clients with:
  • Maintaining a healthy, safe environment, including nutritional and environmental support
  • Personal hygiene, toileting, dressing, walking, and feeding
  • Positioning clients as instructed
  • Assisting with treatments and therapies ordered by the physician and approved by the nursing supervisor
  • Reminding clients to take medications
  • Handling bill payments when authorized and documented
  • Running errands when authorized, with documentation on the Aide Charting Sheet
  • Reporting changes in the client's condition to the agency or nursing supervisor
  • Using medical supplies and equipment appropriately
  • Providing emotional support and building trusting relationships
  • Encouraging client independence
Qualifications/Education:
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Certificate from a State-approved Home Health Aide training program, with ongoing in-service education
  • Maturity for establishing good work relationships with clients, families, and staff
  • Genuine interest and sympathetic attitude towards caring for the sick and disabled
Home Health Aide Requirements:
  • Good interpersonal skills, dependable, trustworthy
  • Compliance with all agency policies and regulations
  • Maintain in-service requirements as per State and agency standards
  • Good listening skills, empathy, sensitivity
  • Neat appearance and good personal hygiene
  • Maintain good health habits, including regular exams
  • Wear an identification badge at work
Functional Abilities:
  • Ability to lift, turn, and transfer clients, up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stoop and bend
  • Sufficient visual and hearing abilities for communication
  • Clear verbal communication
  • Provide direct care as per client care plan
  • Perform various tasks under supervision
Work Environment:

Exposure to client environments and occasional stress.

The hourly rate ranges from $18.10 to $20.00, based on location and other factors such as experience, education, and credentials.
