SUMMARY OF JOB

The primary purpose of this position is to assist residents with personal care, daily activities, medication administration, dietary and housekeeping tasks, and other related functions as assigned by the Team Leader.

Personal Care incorporates two philosophies - safe care and resident-centered care. Our goal is to ensure that the holistic needs of our residents are met through utilizing the skills of the different staff by focusing on the resident-centered experience.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must be over 18 years of age
  • First-aid/CPR certificate
  • Successful completion of the State-approved Direct Care Staff Training course
  • Successful completion of the State-approved Medication Administration & Diabetic Certification Training course within 6 months and periodic competency testing to maintain certification
  • If Medication Administration & Diabetic Certification courses are not completed or periodic competency not met, staff member will be transitioned to a Personal Care Aide; salary adjustments may apply
  • Flexible with scheduling
  • Ability to work on a team, addressing the holistic needs of the Geriatric population
  • Demonstrates positive communication skills and ability to relate to staff in a professional manner; able to relate to all levels of staff
