We are hiring for PCA and HHA positions!

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $18.10 - $20.00 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Successful completion of an approved training program in home health services, or an approved personal care aide training program, or PCA Alternative Competency Demonstration (ACD) approved by the Department of Health, or an equivalent exam approved by the Department.
• Ability to read, write, understand, and carry out directions or instructions, record messages, and keep simple records.
• Sympathetic attitude toward providing services for patients at home with medical problems.
• Access to transportation.
• Good communication skills, including the ability to use the telephone.
• Ability to function independently with minimal supervision.
• Physical ability to move throughout the workday, including sitting, standing, bending, and moving objects and patients.
• Ability to relate to various personality styles, including ill, disabled, and elderly.
• Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and communication.
• Maturity, emotional, and mental stability.
• Experience in personal care or homemaking preferred.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, purchase, prepare, and serve basic diets.
• Assist with dental and mouth care.
• Assist with grooming, including hair care, shaving, nails, and skin care.
• Assist with bathing patients in bed, tub, or shower.
• Assist patients with eating and dressing.
• Maintain a safe environment.
• Follow medical recommendations, such as increased physical activity.
• Report changes in patient needs to the supervising nurse.
• Keep simple records of care activities.
• Perform incidental household tasks, such as light housekeeping, making beds, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, dishwashing, tidying, shopping, and personal laundry.
• Record patient care activities daily.
• Participate in case conferences.
• Prioritize tasks to ensure all duties and patient visits are completed.
• Use universal precautions and infection control techniques.
