Qualifications

  • Previous experience preferred or completion of relevant training.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Supervise and observe nursing functions as directed.
  • Complete all required documentation by end of shift.

Personal Care Aide/Companion (Home Care/PRN)

Join The Forest team as we provide a caring community that promotes independence and supports residents in leading healthy, active, and purposeful lives. As a Companion/Sitter, you will deliver quality care and support residents in their daily activities within our community.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing, understanding).
  • Previous experience or completion of relevant training; training available if needed.

Key Competencies:

  • Positive, trustworthy attitude towards clients and team members.
  • Professional appearance and manner.
  • Ability to learn scheduling software.
  • Comfortable working around animals.
  • Willing to engage clients in activities.
  • Ability to stay calm under stress, report issues to supervisor, and solve problems.
  • Willing to work holidays and weekends as needed.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist clients with ADLs such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Supervise and observe nursing functions as directed, including vital signs and skin assessments.
  • Review plan of care before each shift.
  • Complete all documentation by end of shift.
  • Complete required Relias training modules on time.
