Job summary

Spread Your Wings is hiring today for an entry-level Direct Care Staff in Santa Maria. No experience or caregiver certificate needed—training provided; you’ll support clients with daytime activities, personal hygiene, meals, and transportation as needed.

This role offers competitive hourly pay of $19–$20, mileage reimbursement, and comprehensive benefits for full-time employees after enrollment, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and access to EAP.

Qualifications

• Background check required.
• Valid Driver's License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist, monitor, and teach individuals with daytime activities and encourage personal hygiene and behavior appropriate in their home or apartment.
• Encourage, motivate, and support clients with developmental disabilities and/or behavioral challenges.
• Help plan, create, and organize tasks and schedules that promote goal achievement for your clients.
• Provide consistent documentation of progress through case notes.

The Direct Care Staff are responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive environment which ensures the quality living of our clients.

What you'll do:

• Assist, monitor, and teach individual(s) with preparation of daytime activities and encourage good personal hygiene and behavior appropriate in their home or apartment. These activities may include grocery shopping, menu planning, meal preparation, and clean up.
• Encourage, motivate, and support clients with developmental disabilities and/or behavioral challenges.
• Help plan, create, and organize tasks and schedules that promote goal achievement for your clients.
• Provide consistent documentation of progress through case notes.

You'd be great if you:

• Experience working with individuals with behaviors IS A PLUS!
• Can problem solve and adapt to different client needs.
• Are a strong communicator and dependable.
• Are comfortable working independently in one-on-one settings
