About Your Role
Accurately process routine financial transactions for banking customers with an emphasis on personalized quality service. Contribute to the growth, profitability, and customer retention of the Branch by meeting sales and service goals and objectives. Assess customer needs and effectively sell appropriate banking products and services. Provide banking services ensuring the highest level of quality service is provided to current and prospective customers.
What You Will Do
- Greet customers warmly and professionally. Utilize consultative selling and profiling techniques to assist new and existing customers in selecting appropriate products and services to meet their needs.
- Balance and prove cash drawer daily, ensuring minimum teller difference and controllable loss performance standards are achieved. Attend to night deposit vault, ATM, ITM, coin machine as needed.
- Make daily outbound calls to customers and prospects to promote Bank, Wealth, and NEST products and services.
- Meet and exceed all assigned sales goals for Bank products and referral goals for NEST and digital products annually.
- Proactively sell all Bank products and services to deepen and preserve relationships based on customer needs.
- Identify sales opportunities for Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Wealth and Trust services, and other strategic sales goals as directed by management.
- Solicit new consumer loan applications, process applications, and close loans.
- Respond to all customer inquiries concerning Bank services, interacting with internal departments to ensure satisfaction.
- Perform account and record maintenance duties as directed.
- Provide notary services if licensed.
- Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cash checks, and all other teller transactions per Bank policy.
- Serve as Branch Supervisor if directed by management.
- Assist with related branch office functions as directed by the Branch Manager.
- Be proficient in migrating customers to the Bank's digital channels.
- Stay current and apply understanding of all Bank policies and procedures, including BSA, attending additional training as needed.
- Participate in the Branch Incentive Program.
- Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, employment laws, agency guidelines, and organizational policies.
- Manage compliance requirements for the Retail Branch, maintaining files per regulations.
- Ensure staff meet compliance and disclosure requirements and are cross-trained accordingly.
Requirements
What We Expect of You
- Excellent sales and service skills.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Basic knowledge of opening accounts such as checking and savings.
- Computer literacy, moderate typing skills, and knowledge of standard office equipment including calculators.
- Working knowledge of bank products, services, and software or ability to learn quickly.
- Mastery of operational Teller aspects.
- Ability to work flexible schedules based on branch needs.
Your Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-3 years' experience in a customer service role, with at least 1 year in cash handling, preferably in retail banking; teller experience preferred.
- Prior sales experience, preferably in retail banking.
- Valid NMLS Registration required.
Internal and External Contacts
- Internal: Managers, inter-branch and departmental personnel, outside vendors.
- External: Existing customers and prospects.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Remain stationary for extended periods. Communicate effectively to exchange information with customers. Travel within the company footprint if required. Navigate the branch to meet operational standards. Operate computers, phones, and essential equipment. Handle money and transport coin bags and boxes.
