GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker II after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in Operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the end of the program to demonstrate the skills necessary to succeed in the Retail Personal Banker role. This is a sales position focused on developing sales and building relationships through promoting deposits, loans, fee-based services, and customer retention. Responsibilities include selling banking products to meet customer needs, providing specialized service, and utilizing consultative sales tools in interaction with staff for referrals.

Responsible and accountable for risk management by following policies, raising concerns, and acting ethically to ensure a positive customer experience. Achieves results within the bank's risk appetite by identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  2. Maintain knowledge of retail consumer and small business products/services and recommend suitable solutions.
  3. Utilize CAMP and other approved marketing tools to proactively contact customers and set appointments for financial reviews.
  4. Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities like community events and business calls.
  5. Establish relationships with Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, Investment) for holistic financial solutions.
  6. Meet or exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  7. Guide Customer Service Representatives in the sales and referral process.
  8. Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and helpfulness.
  9. Respond confidently to customer inquiries and resolve issues.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and trustworthiness.
  11. Follow the Bank’s Code of Conduct and policies, acting ethically at all times.
  12. Adhere to policies when opening and servicing retail products.
  13. Participate in the loan and bankcard processes from application to closing.
  14. Assist in opening and closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  15. Stay updated on procedures to prevent fraud and manage risks.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • College degree or relevant work experience.
  • Experience in finance preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities for new and existing customers.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of retail policies and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS required at employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended computer screen viewing.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • External travel for classroom training sessions.
