GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker II after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in Operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate skills necessary for a role within the Retail Personal Banker job family. The Retail Personal Banker II role is a sales position focused on sales development and relationship building through promoting deposits, loans, fee-based services, and customer retention. Responsibilities include selling a full range of banking products and services to meet customer needs, providing specialized care, and utilizing a consultative sales process with staff referrals.

Responsible and accountable for risk management by adhering to policies, elevating concerns, and ensuring actions benefit customers and colleagues. Achieves results within the Bank's risk appetite by identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  2. Maintain knowledge of Retail consumer and small business products/services and recommend suitable solutions.
  3. Utilize CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for financial reviews.
  4. Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and outside sales activities like presentations, calls, and community events.
  5. Establish relationships with Business Partners to provide comprehensive financial solutions.
  6. Meet or exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  7. Guide Customer Service Representatives in sales and referral processes.
  8. Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and friendliness.
  9. Respond confidently to customer inquiries and own customer issues.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and trustworthiness.
  11. Follow the Bank's Code of Conduct and ethical policies.
  12. Adhere to policies when opening/servicing Retail products.
  13. Participate in loan and bankcard processes from application to closing.
  14. Assist in opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  15. Stay updated on procedures to prevent fraud and manage risk.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • College degree or relevant work experience.
  • Experience in the financial industry preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities and cross-selling.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies and sound judgment.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS required at employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended viewing of computer screens.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Travel outside the affiliate for training sessions.
