The Personal Banker II is a member of the Retail Banking team who provides exceptional customer service through routine teller transactions and a broad range of deposit account services. This position primarily supports the branch through transactional responsibilities while also providing backup support for relationship-based banking functions, including opening and servicing deposit accounts. The Personal Banker II builds positive customer relationships while ensuring transactions and account activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with Bank policies and applicable regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable service to customers in person, by phone, and through other available channels.
  • Perform routine teller transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining appropriate cash controls and balancing standards.
  • Assist customers with a full range of deposit needs, including opening new deposit accounts, servicing existing accounts, and providing ongoing account support within established procedures and assigned authority.
  • Process account opening, account maintenance, and transaction documentation accurately and ensure all required information, approvals, and signatures are obtained.
  • Perform vault control responsibilities when assigned, including maintaining appropriate security, access, and control procedures.
  • Educate customers about the Bank’s products, services, account options, and available banking technology to meet their financial needs.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen customer relationships and recommend appropriate Bank products and services to strengthen existing relationships and develop new business.
  • Refer customers to the appropriate team member when needs extend beyond the scope of the position or require specialized expertise.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of Bank policies, procedures, products, services, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Follow BSA, CIP, and OFAC procedures as outlined in the Bank’s BSA Policy.
  • Protect customer privacy and confidential information in accordance with Bank policies and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to established security, internal control, and risk management procedures.
  • Participate in required training and maintain knowledge necessary to perform assigned responsibilities effectively.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs and overall success of the branch and Bank.
  • May assist with training or mentoring new team members as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous banking, cash-handling, or customer service experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of deposit products, account servicing, and branch operations.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing routine branch activities.
  • Ability to routinely lift and carry cash drawers, coins, and other materials as required.
