GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Personal Banker I position provides an exceptional customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing long-lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. This role involves processing teller transactions and working as part of the platform staff. The banker helps customers understand and address their financial needs, offering solutions throughout the customer's lifecycle using our consultative sales and service process.

Responsible and accountable for risk management by openly exchanging ideas, elevating concerns, and following policies and procedures. Always act in the best interest of customers and colleagues, ensuring actions and behaviors promote a positive customer experience. Achieve results within the Bank's risk appetite by identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships within an assigned book of business through proactive outreach via in person, phone, or other channels.
2. Use a consultative approach to uncover customer needs and tailor recommendations, solutions, and advice.
3. Maintain knowledge of products, services, and processes offered by the bank.
4. Collaborate with internal partners to meet customer needs and resolve issues.
5. Analyze customer credit data and financial information to ensure solutions align with their needs.
6. Provide support for current and new technology to reinforce its value to customers.
7. Process teller transactions and adhere to balancing guidelines.
8. Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, modeling ethical behavior expected of all employees.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma/GED and 6 months customer service experience, or college degree or equivalent military experience.
• Ability to develop comfort with both new customer acquisition and deepening relationships.
• Professional representation of Fifth Third Bank in verbal and written communication.
• Exhibits business acumen.
• Ability to make sound decisions.
• This position requires SAFE Act registration at employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Standard office environment.
• Extended viewing of computer screens.
