Position Overview:

As a Personal Banker at Provident Bank, your primary role is to establish relationships with customers and prospective customers to understand, identify, and satisfy their financial needs and to provide a positive customer experience while conducting transactions during every branch interaction.

The Personal Banker position is dynamic, performing both transaction and sales duties. Responsibilities vary daily based on branch needs, including processing financial transactions, opening accounts, cross-selling, tele-consulting, developing relationships, servicing accounts, check cashing, withdrawals, deposits, loan payments, greeting customers, and needs assessments. The role also involves researching and resolving account issues, promoting products and services, and managing a book of business. Meeting sales expectations and assisting with branch operations are also key responsibilities.

This position may be eligible for Life and Health Licensing.

All employees are expected to adhere to the Bank’s Code of Ethics, Core Values, and Mission Statement, working under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meet sales and cross-selling goals by understanding product features and benefits
• Promote bank products and resolve customer inquiries

Service:

• Identify opportunities through lobby management
• Assist with digital technologies and referrals
• Maintain cost efficiency and quality service
• Ensure positive customer service experiences

Operations:

• Ensure operational safety and compliance
• Control and mitigate risk through lobby management
• Verify customer identity and adhere to compliance procedures
• Assist with branch operations and perform transactions
• Prepare reports for transactions
• Assist in training staff and support the contact center
• Handle customer inquiries by phone and provide access to safe deposit boxes

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 6 months of sales and service experience in retail
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work flexible hours and demonstrate professionalism
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick learner of computer programs
• Must register as a mortgage loan originator with NMLS if applicable

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior retail banking experience
• Life and Health Licenses

Working Conditions:

Work mainly in retail banking branches, with potential for overtime and travel. Must be flexible to adapt to new locations.

• Lifting coins from 5 to 25 lbs.
• Prolonged sitting/standing and occasional bending

Work environment is typical of an office setting with moderate noise. Travel may be required.
