GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker II after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in Operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate skills necessary for a role within the Retail Personal Banker job family. The Retail Personal Banker II role is a sales position focusing on sales development and relationship building through the promotion of deposits, loans, fee-based services, and customer retention. Responsible for selling a full range of banking products and services to meet customer needs, while providing specialized care and service. Utilize and promote the consultative sales and service process, using prescribed tools and collaborating with staff for referrals.

Responsible and accountable for risk by following policies and procedures, elevating concerns, and doing the right thing for customers and colleagues. Achieve results by identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks within the Bank's risk appetite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend solutions based on customer needs.
  • Utilize CAMP and other approved marketing tools to proactively reach out and set appointments for financial reviews.
  • Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and outside sales activities like community events and business calls.
  • Establish relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for holistic solutions.
  • Meet/exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  • Guide CSRs regarding sales and referral processes.
  • Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and friendliness.
  • Respond confidently to customer questions and own customer issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality and trust.
  • Follow the Bank's Code of Conduct and policies, ensuring ethical behavior.
  • Adhere to policies when opening/servicing Retail products.
  • Participate in loan and bankcard processes from application to closing.
  • Assist in opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  • Stay updated on procedures to prevent fraud and reduce risk.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • College degree or relevant work experience.
  • Experience in the financial industry preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities to acquire new or cross-sell to existing customers.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies and procedures for sound judgment.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS is required at employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended viewing of computer screens.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Travel outside the affiliate for classroom training sessions.
