GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates will complete a 4-8 week onboarding and education program, including rotations in operations and Sales & Service. Upon completion, there will be a certification to demonstrate the skills necessary for a Retail Personal Banker I role. This position focuses on using consultative sales to meet customer financial needs, acquiring new households, and deepening existing relationships through activities like lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting. The role also involves processing teller transactions and working as part of the platform staff.

Responsible for risk management by following policies, elevating concerns, and ensuring actions drive a positive customer experience. Operates within the Bank's risk appetite, identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use consultative sales and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend solutions.
  • Utilize CAMP and other marketing tools to reach out to customers and set appointments.
  • Focus on cross-selling and outside sales activities such as community events and business calls.
  • Establish relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for holistic solutions.
  • Meet/exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  • Guide CSRs in sales and referral processes.
  • Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and friendliness.
  • Answer customer questions confidently and own customer issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
  • Follow policies while opening/servicing Retail products.
  • Participate in loan and bankcard processes from application to closing.
  • Assist in opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  • Stay updated on procedures to prevent fraud and manage risks.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • College degree or relevant work experience.
  • Preferred experience in the financial industry.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies and judgment for decision-making.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS required at employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Extended computer screen viewing.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Travel outside the affiliate for training sessions.
