GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates will become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program, which includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the end of this program to demonstrate the skills necessary for a role within the Retail Personal Banker job family. The Personal Banker I is a Financial Center position focused on using consultative sales to meet customers' financial needs. The role involves acquiring new households, deepening existing relationships, and working as part of the platform staff, including processing teller transactions.

This role is responsible for risk management by following policies, elevating concerns, and ensuring actions drive a positive customer experience. It involves identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks within the Bank's risk appetite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Use consultative sales and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  2. Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend appropriate solutions.
  3. Use CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments.
  4. Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities such as community events and business calls.
  5. Build relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for holistic financial solutions.
  6. Meet/exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  7. Guide CSRs in sales and referral processes.
  8. Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and friendliness.
  9. Respond confidently to customer questions and resolve issues.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and trust.
  11. Follow the Bank's Code of Conduct and policies, acting ethically at all times.
  12. Adhere to policies when opening/servicing Retail products.
  13. Participate in loan and bankcard processes from application to closing.
  14. Assist in opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  15. Stay updated on procedures to prevent fraud and manage risks.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • College degree, work experience, or a combination thereof.
  • Preferred experience in the financial industry.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities for new and existing customers.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS is required at employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended viewing of computer screens.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Potential travel outside the affiliate for training sessions.
