GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program, which includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate the skills necessary for a role within the Retail Personal Banker job family. The Personal Banker I is a Financial Center position focused on using the consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects. The role emphasizes acquiring new households and deepening existing customer relationships through activities like lobby leadership or aisle time and tele-consulting. Responsibilities include processing teller transactions and working as a member of the platform staff.

Risk and Compliance:

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas, elevating concerns, and following policies and procedures. Always act in the best interest of customers and colleagues, ensuring actions and behaviors promote a positive customer experience. Identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report risks of all types within the Bank's risk appetite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Utilize marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and schedule financial reviews.
  • Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities.
  • Establish relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for comprehensive financial solutions.
  • Meet or exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  • Guide CSRs in sales and referral processes.
  • Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and a friendly demeanor.
  • Respond confidently to customer questions and resolve issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
  • Follow policies when opening and servicing Retail products.
  • Participate in the loan and bankcard processes from application to closing.
  • Assist with opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  • Stay updated on procedures to prevent fraud and manage risk.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • College degree, work experience, or a combination thereof.
  • Experience in the financial industry preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities and cross-selling.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS required at employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Normal office environment.
  • Extended viewing of computer screens.
  • Flexibility to travel for training within and outside the affiliate.
