GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate skills necessary for success within the Retail Personal Banker job family. The Personal Banker I is a Financial Center position focused on using the consultative sales process to identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects. The role involves acquiring new households and deepening existing customer relationships through activities such as lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting. This position also handles teller transactions and works as part of the platform staff.

Responsible for risk management by adhering to policies, elevating concerns, and ensuring actions drive a positive customer experience. Achieves results by managing risks effectively within the Bank's risk appetite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Use consultative sales and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  2. Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend suitable solutions.
  3. Utilize marketing tools to proactively reach out and set appointments for financial reviews.
  4. Focus on cross-selling and outside sales activities such as community events and business calls.
  5. Build relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for holistic solutions.
  6. Meet/exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  7. Guide CSRs in sales and referral processes.
  8. Provide friendly, professional service to ensure customer satisfaction.
  9. Respond confidently to customer questions and own customer issues.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and act ethically per Bank policies.
  11. Follow policies while opening/servicing Retail products.
  12. Participate in loan and bankcard processes from application to closing.
  13. Assist with opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  14. Stay updated on procedures to prevent fraud and mitigate risks.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  1. College degree, relevant work experience, or a combination thereof.
  2. Experience in financial services preferred.
  3. Ability to develop comfort with sales activities for new and existing customers.
  4. Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  5. Professional appearance and communication skills.
  6. Knowledge of Retail policies and sound judgment in decision-making.
  7. S.A.F.E. Act registration through NMLS required at employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  1. Standard office environment.
  2. Extended computer screen viewing.
  3. Travel within the affiliate for training and flexible scheduling.
  4. Travel outside the affiliate for classroom training sessions.
