GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates will undergo a 4-8 week onboarding and education program, including rotations in operations and Sales & Service. Upon completion, candidates will be certified to demonstrate the skills necessary for a Retail Personal Banker I role. This position focuses on using a consultative sales process to identify and meet customers' financial needs, with responsibilities including acquiring new households, deepening existing relationships, and processing teller transactions. The role involves working in a Financial Center or Bank Mart and collaborating with platform staff.

The role emphasizes risk management, ethical behavior, and delivering a positive customer experience, while operating within the Bank's risk appetite and policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Use consultative sales and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of retail products/services and recommend solutions.
  • Utilize marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set financial review appointments.
  • Focus on cross-selling and outside sales activities, including community events and financial literacy programs.
  • Collaborate with Business Partners to provide comprehensive financial solutions.
  • Meet/exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  • Guide Customer Service Representatives in sales and referrals.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with professionalism and a helpful demeanor.
  • Own customer issues and maintain confidentiality.
  • Follow the Bank's Code of Conduct and policies, maintaining ethical standards.
  • Participate in loan and bankcard processes, managing sourced loans from application to closing.
  • Assist in opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  • Stay updated on procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • College degree, relevant work experience, or a combination thereof.
  • Experience in the financial industry preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities and cross-selling.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of retail policies and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS is required at employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended computer screen viewing.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Travel outside the affiliate for classroom training sessions.
