GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate skills necessary to perform successfully within the Retail Personal Banker role. The Personal Banker I is a Financial Center position focused on using the consultative sales process to identify and meet customers' financial needs. This role emphasizes acquiring new households and deepening existing relationships through activities such as lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting. Responsibilities include processing teller transactions and working as a member of the platform staff.

The role involves responsibility for risk management by following policies, raising concerns, and ensuring actions benefit customers and colleagues, driving a positive customer experience while operating within the Bank's risk appetite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  2. Maintain knowledge of Retail consumer and small business products/services and recommend suitable solutions.
  3. Utilize CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and schedule financial reviews.
  4. Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities such as community events and business calls.
  5. Develop relationships with Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, Investment) and refer customers to provide comprehensive financial solutions.
  6. Meet or exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth as measured by the Financial Center P&L.
  7. Guide Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) in sales and referral processes.
  8. Ensure customer satisfaction through friendly, professional service.
  9. Respond confidently to customer questions and resolve issues.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and trustworthiness.
  11. Follow the Bank's Code of Conduct and policies, acting ethically at all times.
  12. Adhere to policies when opening and servicing Retail products.
  13. Participate in loan and bankcard processes from application to closing.
  14. Assist in opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  15. Stay updated on procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • College degree, work experience, or a combination thereof.
  • Experience in the financial industry preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities to acquire new or cross-sell to existing customers.
  • Understanding of advanced math functions for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration through NMLS is required at employment start.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended viewing of computer screens.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Travel outside the affiliate for training sessions.
