GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate skills necessary for a role within the Retail Personal Banker job family. The Personal Banker I is a Financial Center position focused on using the consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects. This role focuses on acquiring new households and/or deepening existing customer relationships through activities like lobby leadership (Financial Centers), aisle time (Bank Marts), and tele-consulting. Responsibilities include processing teller transactions and working as part of the platform staff.

This role is responsible for risk management by following policies and procedures, ensuring a positive customer experience, and operating within the Bank's risk appetite while identifying, assessing, and managing risks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Utilize CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set financial review appointments.
  • Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities such as community events and business calls.
  • Establish relationships with Business Partners to refer customers for comprehensive financial solutions.
  • Meet or exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth as measured by the Financial Center P&L.
  • Guide CSRs in the sales and referral process.
  • Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and friendliness.
  • Own customer issues and answer questions confidently.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards, including the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
  • Follow policies while opening and servicing Retail products.
  • Participate in the loan and bankcard processes, managing sourced loans from application to closing.
  • Assist with opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  • Stay updated on procedures to prevent fraud and manage risk.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • College degree, relevant work experience, or a combination of both.
  • Experience in the financial industry preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities to acquire new customers and cross-sell to existing ones.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS is required at employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended viewing of computer screens.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and schedule flexibility, including outside travel for classroom sessions.
