GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates will complete a 4-8 week onboarding and education program, including rotations in operations and Sales & Service. Upon completion, there will be a certification to demonstrate the skills necessary for a Retail Personal Banker I role. This position focuses on using consultative sales to meet customer financial needs, primarily through acquiring new households and deepening existing relationships via lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting. The role also involves processing teller transactions and working as part of the platform staff.

Risk and Compliance: Responsible for risk management by following policies, raising concerns, and ensuring actions align with the Bank's risk appetite, always aiming to do right by customers and colleagues.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Use consultative sales and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  2. Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend appropriate solutions.
  3. Proactively reach out to customers using CAMP and other marketing tools for financial reviews.
  4. Focus on cross-selling and outside sales activities, including community events and business sales calls.
  5. Establish relationships with Business Partners to provide holistic financial solutions.
  6. Meet/exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  7. Guide CSRs in sales and referral processes.
  8. Ensure customer satisfaction with professionalism and a helpful demeanor.
  9. Own customer issues and communicate confidently.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the Bank's ethical standards.
  11. Follow policies when opening/servicing Retail products and participate in loan processes.
  12. Participate in opening/closing procedures of the Financial Center or Bank Mart.
  13. Stay updated on procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • College degree, relevant work experience, or a combination.
  • Experience in the financial industry preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities and cross-selling.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS required at employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended viewing of computer screens.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Participation in classroom training outside the affiliate may be required.
