GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates will undergo a 4-8 week onboarding and education program, including rotations in operations and Sales & Service. Upon completion, there will be a certification to demonstrate the skills necessary for a Retail Personal Banker I role. This position focuses on using consultative sales to identify and meet customers' financial needs, aiming to acquire new households and deepen existing relationships through lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting. The role also involves processing teller transactions and working as part of the platform staff.

The role requires responsibility for risk management by adhering to policies, elevating concerns, and ensuring actions align with the bank's risk appetite. It emphasizes doing the right thing for customers and colleagues to ensure a positive experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Use consultative sales and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of retail products/services and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Use CAMP and other marketing tools to reach out to customers and set appointments.
  • Focus on cross-selling and outside sales activities like community events and business calls.
  • Establish relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for holistic solutions.
  • Meet/exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  • Guide CSRs in sales and referral processes.
  • Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and a helpful demeanor.
  • Own customer issues and ensure confidentiality.
  • Follow the Bank's Code of Conduct and policies, maintaining ethical standards.
  • Adhere to policies when opening/servicing retail products.
  • Participate in loan and bankcard processes from application to closing.
  • Assist in opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  • Stay updated on procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • College degree, work experience, or a combination thereof.
  • Preferred experience in the financial industry.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities for new and existing customers.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of retail policies and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS is required at employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended viewing of computer screens.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Travel outside the affiliate for classroom training.
