GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate skills necessary for a role within the Retail Personal Banker job family. The Personal Banker I is a Financial Center position focused on using the consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects. This role emphasizes acquiring new households and deepening existing customer relationships through activities such as lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting. Responsibilities include processing teller transactions and working as a member of the platform staff.

Risk and Compliance:

Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas, elevating concerns, and following policies and procedures. Always act in the best interest of customers and colleagues, ensuring actions and behaviors promote a positive customer experience. Identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report risks within the Bank's risk appetite to achieve results responsibly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  2. Maintain in-depth knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend solutions based on our value proposition.
  3. Utilize CAMP and other approved marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for financial reviews.
  4. Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities such as community events and business calls.
  5. Establish relationships with Business Partners to refer customers and provide comprehensive financial solutions.
  6. Meet or exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  7. Guide Customer Service Representatives in the sales and referral process.
  8. Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and a friendly demeanor.
  9. Own customer issues by answering questions confidently and maintaining trust and confidentiality.
  10. Follow the Bank's Code of Conduct and Ethical policies, maintaining ethical behavior at all times.
  11. Adhere to policies when opening and servicing Retail products.
  12. Participate in the consumer loan and bankcard processes from application to closing.
  13. Assist in opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  14. Stay updated on procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • College degree, relevant work experience, or a combination thereof.
  • Preferred experience in the financial industry.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities to acquire new or cross-sell to existing customers.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies to make sound decisions.
  • Must be registered with S.A.F.E. Act through NMLS at employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Extended viewing of computer screens.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Travel outside the affiliate for classroom training.
