GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates will complete a 4-8 week onboarding and education program, including rotations in operations and Sales & Service. Upon completion, there will be a certification to demonstrate the skills necessary for a Retail Personal Banker I role. The Personal Banker I is focused on using a consultative sales process to meet customer financial needs, acquiring new households, and deepening existing relationships through lobby leadership or aisle time and tele-consulting. This role also involves processing teller transactions and working as part of the platform staff.

Responsible for risk management by adhering to policies, elevating concerns, and ensuring actions drive a positive customer experience. Achieves results by managing risks effectively within the Bank's risk appetite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify needs.
• Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend solutions.
• Utilize CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach out and set appointments.
• Focus on cross-selling and outside sales activities like community events and business calls.
• Build relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for holistic solutions.
• Meet or exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
• Guide CSRs in the sales and referral process.
• Ensure customer satisfaction with professionalism and a friendly demeanor.
• Own customer issues and respond confidently.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the Bank's Code of Conduct and policies.
• Participate in loan and bankcard processes, owning sourced loans.
• Assist with opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
• Stay updated on procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• College degree, work experience, or a combination thereof.
• Experience in financial industry preferred.
• Ability to develop comfort with sales activities and cross-selling.
• Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
• Professional appearance and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Retail policies and sound judgment in decision-making.
• S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS is required at employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Standard office environment.
• Extended screen viewing.
• Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
• Travel outside the affiliate for classroom training sessions.
