GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate skills necessary for a role within the Retail Personal Banker job family. The Personal Banker I is a Financial Center position focused on using the consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects. This role involves acquiring new households and deepening existing customer relationships through activities such as lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele-consulting. Responsibilities include processing teller transactions and working as a member of the platform staff.

The role is responsible and accountable for risk, following policies and procedures, and ensuring a positive customer experience. It requires operating within the Bank's risk appetite while achieving results through identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  2. Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend solutions using our value proposition.
  3. Utilize CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for financial reviews.
  4. Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities such as community events.
  5. Establish relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for holistic financial solutions.
  6. Meet/exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  7. Guide CSRs in the sales and referral process.
  8. Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and a friendly demeanor.
  9. Answer customer questions confidently and own customer issues.
  10. Maintain confidentiality and trust.
  11. Follow the Bank's Code of Conduct and policies, maintaining ethical behavior.
  12. Adhere to policies when opening/servicing Retail products.
  13. Participate in loan and bankcard processes, owning sourced loans from application to closing.
  14. Assist in opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  15. Stay updated on procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • College degree or relevant work experience, or a combination.
  • Experience in the financial industry preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities to acquire new or cross-sell to existing customers.
  • Understanding of advanced math functions for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies and procedures for sound decision-making.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration required at employment through NMLS.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Normal office environment.
  • Extended viewing of computer screens.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Travel outside the affiliate for training sessions.
