GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker I after completing a 4-8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. There will be a certification at the conclusion of the program to demonstrate skills necessary for the role. The Personal Banker I is a Financial Center position focused on using the consultative sales process to proactively identify and meet customer needs. This role involves acquiring new households, deepening existing relationships, processing teller transactions, and working as part of the platform staff.

Responsible for risk management by following policies, elevating concerns, and ensuring actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. Achieves results by assessing and managing risks within the Bank's risk appetite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Utilize marketing tools to reach out to customers and set appointments for financial reviews.
  • Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities.
  • Establish relationships with Business Partners and refer customers for holistic solutions.
  • Meet/exceed customer experience and sales goals, and contribute to revenue growth.
  • Guide CSRs in sales and referral processes.
  • Promote customer satisfaction with professionalism and a helpful demeanor.
  • Respond confidently to customer questions and own customer issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards and policies.
  • Participate in loan and bankcard processes, from application to closing.
  • Assist in opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.
  • Stay updated on retail procedures to mitigate fraud and risk.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
  • College degree or relevant work experience.
  • Experience in the financial industry preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities and cross-selling.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS required at employment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended computer screen viewing.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility.
  • Travel outside the affiliate for classroom training.
