GENERAL FUNCTION:

Selected candidates will undergo a 4-8 week onboarding and education program, including rotations in operations and Sales & Service. Upon completion, there will be a certification allowing candidates to demonstrate the skills needed for a Retail Personal Banker I role. This position focuses on using consultative sales to identify and meet customer financial needs, acquiring new households, deepening existing relationships, and processing teller transactions. The role involves engaging with customers in the lobby or aisle, tele-consulting, and working as part of the platform staff.

Risk and Compliance:

Responsible for managing risk by adhering to policies, elevating concerns, and ensuring actions benefit customers and colleagues, maintaining a positive customer experience while operating within the Bank's risk appetite.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Use consultative sales and Financial Needs Assessment to understand customer profiles and identify financial needs.
  • Maintain knowledge of Retail products/services and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Proactively reach out to customers using CAMP and other tools to set appointments for financial reviews.
  • Focus on cross-selling to existing customers and engaging in outside sales activities like community events.
  • Build relationships with Business Partners to offer comprehensive financial solutions.
  • Meet/exceed customer experience and sales goals, contributing to revenue growth.
  • Guide Customer Service Representatives in sales and referral processes.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with professionalism and a helpful demeanor.
  • Own customer questions and issues, maintaining trust and confidentiality.
  • Follow ethical standards and policies, including fraud mitigation procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • College degree or relevant work experience.
  • Financial industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to develop comfort with sales activities and cross-selling.
  • Understanding of advanced math for credit and financial analysis.
  • Professional appearance and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Retail policies and sound judgment in decision-making.
  • S.A.F.E. Act registration via NMLS is required at employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Standard office environment.
  • Extended computer use.
  • Travel within the affiliate for training and scheduling flexibility; some travel outside the affiliate for classroom training.
