Job summary

stbancorp is seeking a Branch Sales specialist to profile customers, determine financial services needs, and refer them to appropriate bank partners. You will open loan and deposit accounts, meet sales goals, and maintain documentation throughout the customer lifecycle.

Requires 2–5 years of banking experience, a high school diploma or equivalent (or two-year degree preferred), and CARE certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Proves competencies in bank operations by completing the Sales Platform training as assigned by Consumer Bank Training.
  • Demonstrates product knowledge, sales aptitude, and service expectations in a successful manner.
  • Executes the Branch Playbook expectations.
  • Profiles customers to determine and recommend appropriate S&T loan and deposit products.
  • Completes the S&T Sales process and documents notes for future interactions.
  • Opens new deposit accounts and processes loan deposit documents.
  • Suggests additional bank services and makes referrals to other lines of business.

Hours

Monday - Thursday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Friday 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
Saturday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm (Must be flexible around branch hours)

Function

Responsible for profiling customers to determine financial services needs and referring customers to other Line of Business partners when appropriate. Opens loan and deposit accounts. Responsible for achieving individual goals including loan and deposit production and other sales goals as assigned by Branch management.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Proves competencies in bank operations by: Completion of the Sales Platform training as assigned by Consumer Bank Training
  • Demonstration of product knowledge, sales aptitude, and service expectations in a successful manner.
  • Execution of the expectations outlined in the Branch Playbook.
  • CARE certified within 6 months of hire
  • Profiles customers to determine and recommend appropriate S&T loan and deposit products.
  • Utilizes all sales tools as provided to enhance the customer experience and sales conversation. Example tools but not limited are: LoanFit, sales binder, etc.
  • Completes the S&T Sales process and customer focused conversation with each customer, document notes in the appropriate system for all bankers view in future interactions.
  • Inputs loan applications using appropriate LOS software and coordinates loan document preparation.
  • Opens new deposit accounts and produces signature cards, certificates of deposit and other deposit documents.
  • Uses a combination of CARE skills, product knowledge, and knowledge of policies and procedures to suggest additional bank services such as other loan accounts, deposit services, and insurance products. Makes referrals to the Mortgage, Wealth Management, Financial Services, Business Banking, Elavon, Elan, Private Banking. Evergreen, Deluxe, etc.
  • Contributes to Branch goals and sales and service standards as outlined in branch playbook and detailed by Branch Management
  • Executes professional sales and service behaviors in alignment with Bank's Our Shared Future purpose, five values and core drivers.
  • Follows up on loans and deposit accounts opened and corrects deficiencies or document exceptions in a timely fashion.
  • Utilize the Sales & Service guide to complete proposed campaign calls on new and existing customers to generate new business as outlined in the Branch Playbook.
  • Assists, as needed, branch management in coaching staff regarding the S&T Sales process and expectations.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with bank employees in other departments and business lines. Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently, as well as motivated to work as a team player to contribute to the success of the branch and in turn, the organization.
  • Completes NLMS requirements as part of the S.A.F.E. Act certification. Proof of registration with the registry and verification of a unique identifier as established under the guidelines of the S.A.F.E. Act is required upon hire and/or must be obtained prior to performing the duties of a Mortgage Loan Originator, as defined by the Act. This registration must be maintained annually in accordance with the S.A.F.E. Act.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, and as necessary to support the successful operation of the branch.
Education

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent , plus specialized training or a two-year degree.

Experience

Two to five years general experience required and specialized preferred.

Physical Demands

Operates a keypad device: 70% of the day; operates electronic equipment: 10% of the day; operates office equipment: 10% of the day. Standing is required 2 hours per day in a straight position. Sitting is required 5 hours per day in a leaning position. Routinely lifts up to 10 lbs., 2 times per day. Maximum lift is 20 lbs., one time per day. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Use of manual dexterity skills for typing and data entry up to 40% of the business day. Specific vision requirements include close vision of 18"-20" for computer work. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
