Job Title: Personal Assistant to Interior Designer

Location: Washington, DC (in-office, Georgetown)

Type: Part-time/25 hours/week - $40/HR

Reports to: Principal Interior Designer / Owner/Founder

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and design-savvy Personal Assistant to support a busy Interior Designer with daily operations and project execution. This role combines administrative support with project management and hands-on involvement in interior design, ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic, design-driven environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Administrative & Personal Support
    • Manage the designer’s calendar, appointments, and travel arrangements
    • Handle email correspondence, calls, and follow-ups with clients, vendors, and collaborators
    • Run errands, manage personal tasks, and help maintain daily efficiency
    • Organize receipts, invoices, and expense reports
    • Create and maintain organized files for client projects, design plans, and material samples
  2. Design-related Support
    • Assist with sourcing furniture, materials, fabrics, and accessories
    • Request and track samples from vendors and showrooms, and get references
    • Accompany the designer on site visits, installations, or showroom appointments, taking notes and creating action plans
    • Oversee deliveries, manage order tracking, and coordinate installations with vendors and contractors
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a personal assistant, design assistant, or admin in a creative field or law firm, with high energy and an upbeat attitude
  • Passion for interior design and a strong eye for aesthetics
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable
  • Comfortable juggling multiple tasks and shifting priorities
  • Excellent communication skills—professional, polished, and friendly
  • Tech-savvy: Familiar with Google Workspace, Excel, Pinterest, Canva, and preferably Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of interior design platforms like Studio Designer is a plus
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and assist during installs and deliveries
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have):
  • Interior design education or coursework
