Job summary

Infinity Natural Resources, Inc. seeks a Permitting Specialist to own surface permitting across Appalachian Basin operations from Morgantown, WV, with up to 20% travel to field sites and agency offices.

You will independently prepare permit applications, coordinate with regulatory agencies, review regulations for compliance, and maintain logs and schedules while collaborating with engineering, surface operations, regulatory, and environmental teams to ensure complete, accurate submissions.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in oil and gas permitting, operations, or regulatory compliance, or related experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of oil and gas surface permitting processes and applicable operational regulations.
• Ability to read and interpret plats, engineering drawings, and technical documents.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to resolve permitting challenges with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare and submit permit applications for a variety of oil and gas operational activities.
• Coordinate directly with regulatory agencies to clarify requirements, resolve issues, and ensure timely permit approval.
• Review and interpret applicable regulations to ensure compliance across all applications.
• Maintain accurate permit logs, track approval timelines, and communicate status updates to the operations team.
• Collaborate with engineering, surface operations, regulatory, and environmental staff to ensure complete and accurate application packages.
• Participate in pre-application meetings with agencies to streamline the permitting process.
• Research and resolve moderately complex permitting issues and regulatory inquiries.
• Ensure timely renewal, amendment, or closure of permits as required.
• Provide training and guidance to junior permitting staff on procedures and best practices.
• Serve as the permitting lead for assigned operational projects, reporting status to asset development leadership.
