Fauquier County Government is seeking a full-time Permit Technician to join our Department of Community Development within the Building, Permitting and Inspections Division. This role serves as a key contact for residents, contractors, and others seeking help with permits and inspections.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, processing permit applications, scheduling inspections, and maintaining accurate records.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some general clerical experience involving customer service in the building and construction field.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Good computer and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

As a Permit Technician, you'll serve as an important point of contact for residents, contractors, and others seeking assistance with permits and inspections.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing friendly, professional customer service at the front counter and over the phone.
• Receiving and processing permit applications.
• Scheduling inspections.
• Maintaining accurate files and records.
• Answering questions and assisting the public and staff with permitting and inspection-related matters.
