Job summary

EXPRESS PERMITS LLC is seeking a dedicated Technician to ensure the quality, safety and accuracy of OSOW freight permitting processes. The role emphasizes analytical skills and teamwork within a fast-paced environment.

You will route and order permits for over-dimensional shipments, compute dimensions, coordinate local permit requirements, and communicate with drivers to provide instructions for OD loads. This position requires strong communication and problem-solving abilities and proficiency

Qualifications

• Experience with OSOW/over-dimensional shipments preferred.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and analytical mindset needed.
• Basic trucking knowledge is a plus.

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is responsible for ensuring the quality, safety and accuracy of a carrier’s oversize/overweight (OSOW) freight shipping services. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Routing and ordering permits for over dimensional shipments
• Computing overall loaded dimensions
• Coordinating additional requirements for the move such as local permits.
• Communicating with drivers to provide any and all special instructions for the transportation of OD loads.
• Maintaining and updating all OSOW permit-specific department resources
• Serving as a liaison between drivers, state agencies, customer service representatives and projects teams to answer questions, resolve problems and obtain permits.

Requirements

• Trucking knowledge preferred but not required.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
