Qualifications

• Three years of experience as a permit technician or in an office environment.
• Texas Class C Driver License required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and physical exam.

Job description

The Town of Prosper is currently seeking qualified and dedicated individuals for the position of:

Permit Technician

Hiring Range: $38,738 - $42,156 Annually

Benefits: Retirement (TMRS) with 2-to-1 match, medical, dental, and vision benefits (effective within the first 35 days), flex scheduling, tuition reimbursement, wellness benefits, and training & continuing education opportunities.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D., and three (3) years of experience as a permit technician or in an office environment.
• ICC Permit Technician Certification (or ability to obtain within one year).
• Texas Class C Driver License.
• Pass pre-employment drug screening and post-offer physical exam.

Equivalent education and experience may be considered.

Under general supervision, this position provides excellent customer service to contractors, residents, and developers. Responsibilities include processing building permit applications, maintaining databases, plan review, building inspections, code enforcement, health inspections, registering contractors, calculating permit fees, answering inquiries, and accepting payments. Additional duties may be assigned.
