Job summary

Children's Choice, Inc. is seeking a Permanency Independent Living Caseworker in Dover, DE. The role focuses on facilitating permanency processes, supporting youth aging out of foster care, and coordinating placements with resource families. Hybrid schedule with initial in-office period and possible remote days.

The candidate should have a social work background, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with families, teens, and court systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field required.
• Experience working with families in social services context preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with properly registered and insured vehicle.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.
• Writing and communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the movement of children through the permanency process.
• Facilitate child placements and avoid placement disruptions; provide crisis management and supportive counseling.
• Recruit adoptive homes for special needs children.
• Conduct adoptive home studies and prepare Family and Child Profiles.
• Attend court for all adoption and finalization hearings; provide post-adoption referrals and services.

JOB TYPE: Full-time Permanency Independent Living Caseworker

LOCATION: Dover, DE

SCHEDULE: New employees will work in person in the office for a 60-day period then transition to a hybrid schedule which includes possibility of 2 remote working days per week
