The Perkins Family YMCA in St Michaels, MD is seeking a part-time Before & After Care staff member to provide direction for the program and classroom, delivering a quality experience for children and parents aligned with YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

Responsibilities include implementing curriculum, designing daily activities, supervising children, and maintaining records and relationships with families.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 16 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• Previous experience with children in a developmental setting preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations and ability to relate to people from different backgrounds.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides direction for the program and classroom and implements program curriculum. Provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
• Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans.
• Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities.
• Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
• Maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents.
• Maintains program site and equipment.
• Maintains required program records.
• Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 16 years of age.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
• Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
