Job summary

Food Lion in Wilmington, DE seeks a Perishable Department team member to provide quality customer service and maintain standards in accordance with the standard practice manual. You will maximize sales through excellent service and minimize shrink through proper retail practices.

You will handle deliveries, stock meat and dairy items, rotate products, and ensure compliance with safety guidelines while supporting a positive shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Courteous and helpful to other associates
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and store properly
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise aligns with policies and guidelines
• Maintain proper product levels in all areas within the Perishable Department including meat, lunchmeat, frozen, dairy, ice cream
• Process beef and grinds as directed from the planned production tool and as requested
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat case as requested
• Assemble, disassemble, and clean the grinder as requested
• Clean and sanitize the department
• Maintain layout standards and ad materials
• Comply with Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines
• Observe and report unsafe conditions
• With Manager on Duty, report accidents
• Follow local, state and federal regulations
• Wear Food Lion uniform and name badge
• Complete CBT and training packets
• Perform all other duties as assigned
