Job summary

Food Lion in North Charleston, SC is hiring for a Perishable Department team member. Provide quality customer service, maintain department standards, and help maximize sales through attentive service and proper product handling.

You will receive deliveries, rotate stock, prepare and stock meat, dairy and frozen items, and ensure safety and cleanliness. Candidates should be at least a high school graduate with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to follow Food Lion guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly, and accurate customer service in the Perishable Department.
• Courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO.
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and store appropriately.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise meets policies.
• Maintain product levels in meat, lunchmeat, dairy, ice cream, and frozen items.
• Process beef and grinds as directed and as needed.
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat items.
• Assemble, disassemble, and clean the grinder as needed.
• Clean and sanitize the department and maintain layout standards.
• Utilize advertising and sales promotion materials accordingly.
• Follow company guidelines, policies and standard practice.
• Adhere to Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and report accidents per procedures.
• Comply with local, state and federal regulations.
