Job summary

Dollar General in Nettleton, MS is seeking a Perishable Department Supervisor to oversee produce, meat, dairy, bakery and frozen goods while assisting the Store Manager with inventory and merchandising.

You will train staff, ensure freshness and pricing standards, maintain stock levels, and uphold safety and food handling rules. This position offers growth in a busy neighborhood store.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, and instructions.
• Ability to perform basic math: addition, subtraction, percentages.
• Experience using cash registers and generating reports.
• Knowledge of cash handling, deposits, and security practices.
• Familiarity with perishable inventory and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in cash accountability and store security.
• Maintain perishable stock levels based on store volume using provided tools.
• Train associates in merchandising, freshness, and pricing standards.
• Record inventory levels and perishable markdowns; analyze causes and prevent recurrences.
• Ensure customer needs are addressed in a timely manner.
• Support sanitation standards and safety training in Perishable departments.
