Job summary

BMC Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV is hiring a Perioperative Support Technician to assist the nursing and surgical teams across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care. You will perform aseptic prep, equipment transport, inventory management, and cleaning tasks in a high‑volume operating setting.

Monday–Friday 6:30am–3pm, 40 hours/week. The role requires a high school diploma and BLS certification within 30 days, prior patient care experience, and the ability to operate

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Uses aseptic technique to open sterile supplies and assists with patient preps.
• Transports patients and cleans transport devices; assists with transfers and positioning.
• Maintains stock lists and inventory; ensures supplies and equipment are available.
• Maintains inventory control and cleans/organizes work areas and equipment.
• Performs cleaning and sterilization of instruments and rooms; documents tasks.
• Wraps instruments for sterilization and prepares sterile packs; records vitals as directed.
