Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an Operating Room Assistant to join the Perioperative team. The role supports patient movement, positioning and equipment setup in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on safety and comfort.

The shift runs Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, in the Boston area. Responsibilities include assisting nursing staff, preparing rooms, transporting patients, and handling supplies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients as directed, maintaining patient comfort and safety.
• Assists nurse in patient care by lifting and positioning patients.
• Restocks supplies on unit including bedside cards and pumps.
• Cleans patients' equipment including monitors and cables.
• Picks up and delivers medications/specimens as directed.
• Accompanies outpatients to lobby and waits with them until transportation arrives.
