CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Perioperative Support Specialist in Colorado Springs. You will assist in daily operations of the PACU, OR, or GI Lab under RN guidance to ensure smooth patient flow and a clean, well-equipped care environment.

Daily duties include assisting nurses, preparing patients for surgery, transporting patients, and helping maintain equipment and supplies. Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to policies are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current Basic Life Support (AHA).
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsabilités

• Transport patients safely between departments and on discharge.
• Assist in cleaning, sterilization, setup and maintenance of equipment (e.g., canisters, circuits, suction, LMAs, laryngoscope blades).
• Clean operating room suites or procedure rooms between cases.
• Assist with terminal cleaning of operating rooms as requested.
• Store and organize equipment, supplies and instruments.
• Prep rooms for the next patient.

As our Perioperative Support Specialist, you will directly assist in the smooth daily operations of the PACU, OR, or GI Lab under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Your support will be crucial for maintaining efficient patient flow and a clean, well-equipped care environment. Every day, you will perform routine and delegated ancillary duties according to established standards and policies, collaborating closely with nursing staff. This includes actively assisting nurses in preparing patients for surgery and facilitating their safe transport within the perioperative areas. You will also diligently help maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of essential equipment and supplies within the care environment. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting patient care and operational efficiency. You will exhibit excellent teamwork skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow directions accurately, all while helping to ensure a safe and organized setting for patients and staff.

• Performs the safe, timely transport of patients interdepartmentally and upon discharge.
• Assists in the cleaning, sterilization, setup and maintenance of equipment (e.g., clean canisters, anesthesia circuits and suctions, monitoring lines, LMAs and laryngoscope blades).
• Cleans operating room suites or procedure rooms between cases.
• Assists with terminal cleaning of operating room as requested.
• Puts equipment, supplies, and instruments away.
• Assists in prepping room for the next patient.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
• Current Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Basic computer skills

Preferred

• Previous experience in hospital setting and surgical services

Pay Range

$19.53 - $30.27 /hour
