These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner, following the mission, values, and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care, service, and kindness toward all patients, staff, physicians, volunteers, and guests.

Job Requirements:

  1. Track all relevant surgical metrics, including but not limited to, on time starts, total case times, surgery quantity, etc.
  2. Create plans and processes for continual improvement of all surgical activities.
  3. Responsible for assessing all administrative and practice processes and generating ideas and solutions for improvement for the practice on a continual basis.
  4. Work independently and/or engage other management in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures as needed.
  5. Advise practice about current trends, problems, and medical activities to facilitate policy making.
  6. Review existing protocols, policies, and procedures annually, and make updates needed.
  7. Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies governing healthcare delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies. Continually monitor operations, programs, physical properties and initiate appropriate changes which are in line with OSHA and universal precautions.
  8. Communicate appropriate information effectively, timely, and professionally with all employees on all levels.
  9. Participate in management meetings led by Leadership Team and contribute effectively to areas of direct responsibility.
  10. Coordinate with human resources recruiting needs and conduct interviews, make selections, and coordinate hiring of new personnel.
  11. Oversee the business and financial affairs of the surgical unit and fiscal management in conjunction with the revenue cycle team.
  12. Enhance operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing important innovation of quality of care.
  13. Monitor and manage supply usage and ordering to ensure optimal practices are established.
  14. Manage employees reporting directly to the position, providing leadership, motivation, development, and discipline in order to promote quality performance and achievement of financial and quality objectives.
  15. Create and implement performance improvement action plans for all employees who need additional training which are compliant with management philosophy.
  16. Resolve any medical-administrative problems and keep lines of communication with staff to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthful practice atmosphere.
  17. Monitor overtime and time off requests to achieve financial goals and minimize excess and waste.

Job Specifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  2. Computer experience and medical terminology preferred.
  3. Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.

Skills:

  • Maintains a high degree of accuracy in carrying out work duties.
