Job summary

Baptist Memorial Health is hiring an RN to provide direct and indirect patient care in an acute care setting in Memphis, TN. The role requires 2 years of acute care experience (ED/ICU preferred), graduation from an approved nursing program, and RN licensure with BLS within 14 days of hire.

ACLS/PALS are desirable. You will collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care, patient safety, and efficient care coordination, including on-call shifts during holidays,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN license with BLS within 14 days of hire.
• 2 years acute care experience required (ED/ICU preferred).
• ACLS/PALS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses the patient appropriately and accurately based on their medical condition.
• Has knowledge of ordered medications and administers as prescribed.
• Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient including basic self-care activities.
• Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning; family is included in teaching as appropriate.
• Demonstrates ability to utilize nursing knowledge to perform treatments and provide services.
• Communicates/collaborates with multidisciplinary team in providing patient care.
• Demonstrates an ability to assist physicians with procedures and performs services requiring technical and manual skills.
• Identifies and addresses psychosocial needs of patients and family; communicates with social services regarding both hospital and post discharge needs.
• Demonstrates cost-effective practices and non-wasteful usage of supplies, linen, and charge items.
• Prioritizes patient care effectively and efficiently.
• Promotes patient safety by reducing the risk of unnecessary harm associated with health care.
• Assumes lifelong learning related to the nursing profession.
• On call shifts required (holidays, nights, weekends)
