Job summary

Springfield Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ASC OR/ARD to provide professional nursing care for surgical or endoscopic patients, delivering total patient-centered care via the nursing process.

The role involves cross-training to other areas, pre-operative assessments, anesthesia-related care, discharge planning, and adherence to safety and privacy policies. Illinois RN license with PALS, ACLS, and CPR certifications are required within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Three to five (3-5) years of comparable nursing experience preferred.
• Licensure as an RN in the State of Illinois.
• PALS certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within six months of employment.
• ACLS certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within six months of employment.
• CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Greet patient and instruct in changing into appropriate attire; complete pre-operative assessment and document on chart forms; administer pre-op orders and provide pre-operative teaching.
• Assess and monitor the patient during Phase I Recovery; complete records; administer medications as ordered; prepare for transfer to Phase II Recovery.
• Assess and monitor the patient during Phase II Recovery; administer medications as ordered; complete chart forms; assist patient in discharge and provide home instructions.
• Maintain the facility in a neat and orderly manner; restock supplies; check crash cart and medications daily; complete post-op phone calls as needed.
• Comply with incident reporting policy and procedures; adhere to HIPAA and Springfield Clinic training as required; provide excellent customer service.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.
